Vintage 1950s Designer Marcasite Kigu Floral Brooch
Description
Vintage 1950's marcasite brooch by jewellery designer KIGU of London. Kigu manufactured this marcasite brooch in the shape of an elaborate bow around a bouquet in silver and gold tone metal.
The marcasite stones set into the brooch are Pyrite also known as Fools Gold. It was used in jewellery due to it's ability to catch the light, giving a diamond effect.
Kigu of London manufactured high quality compacts for the famous and a small selection of jewellery. The brooch has the makers mark stamped onto the underside of the brooch 'KIGU REC DES'.
MEASUREMENTS
The brooch measure 6.2cm / 2.4" in height and 3.6cm / 1.4" in width.
CONDITIONS
The brooch are in excellent vintage condition.
