This Victorian silver oval locket is a beautifully restrained example of late 19th-century craftsmanship, combining crisp engraving.The front is decorated with a central engraved foliate panel framed by rope-twist borders, while the reverse is left plain. The oval form and hinged construction are characteristic of the period, designed to sit comfortably against the body when worn on a chain.
