El gran broche redondo está hecho con incrustaciones de carey que luce impresionante con su incrustación de oro y plata.
En la época victoriana, el carey se utilizaba en la joyería de luto. Cuando alguien fallecía, se observaban prendas y joyas negras como señal de respeto. El carey está incrustado con plata y oro. La concha se calienta y el diseño se presiona sobre la pieza.
