En la era victoriana, el carey se usaba en joyas de luto. Cuando alguien fallecía en señal de respeto se observaba ropa y joyas de color negro. Pieza de piqué carey es carey con incrustaciones de plata y oro. La carcasa se calienta y el diseño se presiona en la pieza. Las joyas de luto se pusieron de moda después de que el Príncipe Alberto falleciera debido a que la Reina Victoria asumió el luto por el resto de su vida.
Nuestro colgante Piqué Carey con un corazón inflado engastado con un diseño dorado y plateado. La pieza lleva una nueva cadena de oro de 9 quilates.
