Descripción
Antiguo broche victoriano de oro de 9 quilates con tres camafeos engastados en lava. La lava se consideraba un material fino de alta calidad que se utilizaba junto con la piedra, la concha, el coral, el roble de los pantanos o la madreperla para tallar camafeos. Cada camafeo habría sido tallado a mano, las caras exteriores miran hacia adentro mientras que la cara central mira hacia la derecha. Los camafeos están en tres colores diferentes de lava, gris, marrón y negro. El alfiler se asegura con un cierre en forma de "c" victoriano típico.
Las mujeres victorianas en el Grand Tour, un rito de iniciación itinerante para los europeos de clase alta, buscaban camafeos de lava tallados con la imagen de la mujer misteriosa cuando estaban en Italia.
