Sphene pasó a llamarse en la década de 1980 a 'Titanite', tiene un alto brillo y dispersión (fuego) superior a los diamantes. La variedad en el brazalete se llama Chrome Titanite, una variedad verde esmeralda. Encontrar Sphene de calidad gema puede ser raro.
