Every piece is checked carefully before it leaves us, and we're here to look after it long after it arrives.

Many antique and vintage pieces haven't been worn for years, sometimes decades, before they reach their new owner. Although we examine every piece thoroughly before it ships, wearing a piece again can occasionally reveal something that needs attention. If that happens, please get in touch and we'll help.

Our warranty

During the warranty period, we'll repair anything that goes wrong because of how the piece was made or set, such as a fault in a setting or a clasp, or an accent stone that comes loose because of a setting fault.

What's not covered

• Wear and tear, or damage caused while wearing the piece, such as knocks, bends or chips.
• Loss or theft of the piece or any of its stones, including the center stone.
• Any piece that has been worked on by another jeweler, including resizing. Work done by anyone other than Mayveda voids the warranty.

We strongly recommend insuring your jewelry, especially an engagement ring, with a specialist jewelry insurer such as Jewelers Mutual.

How to make a claim

Please contact us before sending anything, with your order number, a short description and a few photos. We'll advise you on the next steps and how to send the piece to us safely, or you're welcome to drop it off with us in New York by appointment. Once we've examined it, we'll let you know whether the work is covered by the warranty. Delivery costs for warranty and repair work are the customer's responsibility.

Repairs

We're happy to repair pieces bought from Mayveda, including those outside the warranty, as well as antique jewelry bought elsewhere. We'll examine the piece, explain what's needed, and give you a quote before any work begins.

Complimentary care

Fine jewelry needs a little care to last a lifetime. For any piece bought from Mayveda, we offer complimentary cleaning and claw checks. Send your piece to us by post, or drop it off with us in New York by appointment.

We recommend having an engagement ring checked by a jeweler at least once a year, as many jewelry insurers advise. Regular checks catch worn claws or loose stones early, before a stone can be lost.
