Broche de luto victoriano antiguo de oro de 9 quilates con detalles ornamentados en oro con esmalte negro y pelo tejido. La joyería de luto se remonta al siglo XVI, se hizo popular en la era victoriana cuando el Príncipe Alberto falleció cuando la Reina Victoria se puso de luto. Las piezas de joyería de luto más interesantes incluyen el trabajo del cabello, que no era necesariamente del difunto, gran parte del cabello se importó de Europa para satisfacer la demanda. Se utilizó para crear una conexión entre un ser querido fallecido.
