Antique Victorian Silver Bachelor Buttons
Description
Our Antique Victorian cufflinks, which are designed with a beautiful and intricate engraved pattern of bamboo and birds. Originally known as solitaires, these cufflinks were later renamed bachelor buttons. They were designed and created by George West in 1872 in England, and are a testament to the Victorian era's attention to detail and craftsmanship.
The cufflinks feature a spring action mechanism on the back, which allows the two halves of the cufflink to come away from one another. This innovative mechanism was patented by George West, as indicated by the words 'WEST'S PATENT'. The front of the cufflinks is made from sterling silver and the rest of the piece is made from brass, adding a touch of contrast to the overall design.
These cufflinks are versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways. They can be used as traditional cufflinks, or worn in the lapels of a button-down shirt. Their unique design and intricate craftsmanship make them a one-of-a-kind accessory that is sure to add a touch of sophistication and elegance to any outfit.
