Antique Victorian 1880s Enamel Floral Blue Enamel Locket Necklace
Description
This silver enamel locket was made in England in the late Victorian period, circa the 1880s. The piece features translucent blue guilloché enamel, engine-turned beneath the surface to create a radiating pattern, and hand-painted floral decoration in soft pinks and greens with subtle gilt accents. This style of enamelling and decoration was particularly popular in England during the final decades of the 19th century and reflects the refined, romantic taste of the Victorian era.
The locket opens to reveal two interior compartments, originally intended for portraits or keepsakes, and is finished with a simple hinged construction and integrated bail for wear on a chain. Elegant yet practical, it would have been worn as a personal sentimental jewel and remains just as meaningful today.
The pendant comes with a new sterling silver belcher chain, adjustable from 18–20 inches (45–50 cm).
