A piece as individual as your story. Whether it's an engagement ring, a wedding band or an heirloom to mark a milestone, I'll design it with you, and it will be handmade for you in New York.
How it works
1. Design consultation
We talk through your ideas, inspiration and budget. You'll then receive two to three design concepts made just for you. The consultation is $250, credited toward your piece if you go ahead.
2. Try it on
Before anything is made, we create a resin model of your chosen design, so you can try it on and check its proportions.
3. Approve your design
Once you're happy, a 50% deposit begins production. The balance is due when your piece is complete.
4. Handmade in New York
Your piece is handmade by our goldsmiths in New York, typically within 4 to 6 weeks of design approval, depending on the design.
Antique diamonds and your own stones
We can source antique diamonds and gemstones for your design, with all the softness and character of stones cut by hand over a century ago. We're also happy to work with stones you already own, such as a family diamond. We'll examine them first and advise whether they're suitable, though please note that working with your own stones is at your own risk, as stones can occasionally be damaged during making.
Client commissions
Our client had been given a rare green tanzanite by her partner. Together we designed a classic platinum ring, accenting the gemstone with brilliant cut diamonds, blending timeless elegance with the meaning of a cherished gift.
Our client wanted a wedding ring filled with imagery from their own story. Crafted in 18K gold, the band is decorated with horses, dogs, parrots and flowers, centered with a brilliant cut diamond.
Created to celebrate 40 years of marriage, this ring sets antique diamonds among hand-carved blue chalcedony flowers in 14K yellow gold: a joyful, romantic heirloom.
Our client was given a striking pear cut emerald and wanted a setting to show it off. We created a clean, modern design in 14K yellow gold that lets the vivid green take center stage.
To mark the births of her three children, our client wanted their birthstones together in one ring. We created an asymmetric 18K gold setting with a pink tourmaline, a sapphire and an opal.
Made to honor our client's mother, this ring sets a rare heart-shaped yellow diamond between two pear-shaped white diamonds in 18K yellow gold.

Our client was given a vivid ruby to celebrate the birth of their child. We designed a classic platinum halo ring, surrounding the ruby with brilliant cut diamonds.
The finer details
How long does a custom piece take?
Most pieces are completed within 4 to 6 weeks of design approval. If you have a date in mind, such as a proposal or wedding, let us know at the start and we'll do our best to have it ready in time.
Can I return a custom piece?
Because each piece is made just for you, custom commissions are final sale and deposits are non-refundable. Your resin model means you can try the design before it's made.
How will my piece be delivered?
Delivery is free and fully insured across the US, with an adult signature required. We'll contact you to arrange a delivery date.
Is my custom piece covered by a warranty?
Yes. Custom pieces are covered by our one-year warranty for By Mayveda designs. See our Warranty & Repairs page for details.
