About antique and vintage gemstone rings
Colored gemstones bring warmth and personality to a ring. This collection includes antique and vintage rings set with sapphires, rubies, emeralds, opals, garnets, tourmalines and more, as well as our own By Mayveda gemstone signet rings.
Choosing a gemstone ring
If you'd like a ring to wear often, sapphires and rubies are excellent choices, second only to diamonds in hardness. Emeralds are beautiful but more brittle, so they deserve gentle care. Opals, pearls and turquoise are softer still. Many Victorians chose stones for their meaning: rubies for passion, sapphires for faithfulness, and acrostic rings that spelled words like "regard" in the first letters of their stones.
