Description

Vintage 1960s charm necklace featuring a 9ct gold music box with a tiny enamel monkey holding a little pot for money. The wheels and monkey move up and down.

The Organ Grinder's Monkey is someone who is closely associated with a powerful person and acts on their behalf, but has no real power themselves. "Why bother with monkeys when you can deal with the organ grinder? Some will say that I focus too much attention on the monkey, whilst allowing the organ grinder to get off free.' This charm is a little reminder NOT to be the Organ Grinder's Monkey.

The charm has a number of marks indicating the charm was hallmarked in 1960s in England. This piece does not come with a chain, please contact us for chain options.
