Antique Victorian Butterfly Wing Necklace
Description
In Victorian symbolism, the butterfly was believed to represent the soul—an emblem of transformation, hope, and immortality. Within religious contexts, the life cycle of a butterfly held deep significance: life (caterpillar), death (chrysalis), and rebirth or resurrection (butterfly).
This rare and ethereal butterfly wing pendant dates to the Victorian era (1837–1901). Originally crafted as a brooch, the piece has been sensitively converted into a wearable pendant by our expert Hatton Garden goldsmith. It features a shimmering, iridescent butterfly wing encased in a delicate sterling silver and glass frame—preserving nature’s beauty for generations to come.
