Vintage 1920s Art Deco compact featuring yellow guilloche enamel. This beautiful mirror compact is enamelled on the front and smooth silver on the back.
Guilloche enamelling is a decorative process which is precise, intricate, it is a repetitive pattern engraved into an underlying material via engine turning with enamel. The word guilloche refers to the process of engine turning.
The piece has a number of hallmarks indicating the piece was made by 'GS' from outside of the UK in 1922.
