Antique Art Nouveau 1902 Poseidon God of the Sea Silver Necklace
Description
Our antique Art Nouveau 1902 silver necklace features the Greek God Poseidon. Poseidon is the god of the sea and protector of seafarers in Greek mythology or Neptune in Roman mythology.
The necklace depicts Poseidon standing in a giant shell with is three pronged trident staff surrounded by waves. Curiously Poseidon is the god of horses, it is said he created the first horse, on the pendant there is a horse within the waves.
The necklace was designed from a sterling silver button into a medallion necklace our expert Goldsmiths in Hatton Garden the epicenter of jewellery making in London, England. The pendant hangs from a new heavy sterling silver chain.
