14" Necklace - fits just around then like a chocker.

16" Necklace - will fall around the base of the neck similar to a collar. The fall of the necklace will depend on the individual size of the wearers neck.

18" Necklace - will fall below the throat at the collarbone.

20" Necklace - will fall a few inches below the collar bone, this length is perfect for a lower neckline.

22" Necklace - will fall below a standard neckline.

Description

Vintage 1930s rectangular locket featuring ornate engravings on the front of the piece and smooth surface on the back. The locket opens to reveal two areas to place two pictures. This piece has a number of hallmarks on the back indicating the piece is 9ct rose gold on the front and the back. It is not gold on the inside.

The locket is solid 9ct gold on the front and the back of the locket. Lockets were made with brass interiors and hinges for strength during this period.

The Locket is perhaps the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It has to be the ultimate love token. During the Victorian era, young Victorian women would hide a picture of a man they admired, if the man offered up a lock of hair a marriage proposal usually would follow. Lockets were considered a statement of an intention to marry.
