Vintage 1940s Gold Filled Vargas Heart Locket Necklace
Description
Vintage late 1940s heart Locket from jewellery house Vargas. The locket is marked "1/20 10k GF, Vargas, SIL Trimmings", indicating the piece is gold filled 1/20 indicated the ratio of gold to base metal and the gold quality in 10k (ct). The 'trimmings' of the locket is silver. Vargas was established in 1945 in Providence, Rhode Island in the United States.

MEASUREMENTS
The piece measures 2cm / 0.8" in height, 1.9cm / 0.7" in width. The pendant hangs from a new 9ct gold chain measuring 18" in length.
CONDITION
The outside of the locket is in excellent vintage condition. The middle of the locket is suffering a small amount verdigris (green spots) from its age.
