Description
Vintage 1940s spider brooch. The brooch features a central large oval shaped amber coloured glass faceted stone set into a gold tone metal. The brooch secures with a 'c' clasp. The glass stones in the brooch are Czech.

Bohemia played an important role in costume jewellery. Bohemian costume jewellers pioneered cut-glass imitation gemstones and pearls. Bohemia gemstones where such good quality they rivalled beads produced in Venice during the 1920s.

The brooch measures 2.5cm / 1" in length and 2.5cm / 1" in width.
CONDITION:
The brooch is in excellent vintage condition.
