14" Necklace - fits just around then like a chocker.

16" Necklace - will fall around the base of the neck similar to a collar. The fall of the necklace will depend on the individual size of the wearers neck.

18" Necklace - will fall below the throat at the collarbone.

20" Necklace - will fall a few inches below the collar bone, this length is perfect for a lower neckline.

22" Necklace - will fall below a standard neckline.

Description

Vintage 1970's yellow gold Locket featuring unique 3D diamond effect detailing on the front of the piece. This vintage locket is 9ct gold indicated by the hallmark 9ct BK - FT, the interior of the locket is not gold. The locket opens to reveal two compartments where pictures or a memento could be stored. The locket hangs from a new 9ct yellow gold chain.

The Locket is perhaps the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It has to be the ultimate love token.

During the Victorian era, young Victorian women would hide a picture of a man they admired, if the man offered up a locket of hair a marriage proposal usually would follow. Lockets were considered a statement of an intention to marry.

The locket measures 1.9cm / 0.7” in height and 1.8cm / 0.7” in length. The pendant hangs from a new 18" 9ct yellow gold chain.

The locket is in excellent antique condition, the locket closes securely and the piece is free of dents and scratches.
