Reserved - Antique 1901 22ct Victorian Sovereign Necklace
Description
Antique Victorian 22ct yellow gold full Sovereign pendant set into a 9ct yellow gold setting. The coin dates back to 1901 and it is from Perth in Australia.
Queen Victoria died in 1901, making this one of the last coins struck during her reign. Just over 3 million Sovereigns were struck for circulation at the Australian Mint in Perth.
This Sovereign features the third effigy of Queen Victoria used on coinage. The new portrait was created by Thomas Brock RA; it was selected from six designs in a competition in 1891 and was first struck in 1893.
