Antique 1913 18ct Sapphire Diamond Star Ring
Description
Historically it is believed sapphires symbolise truth, sincerity and faithfulness. It is also believed to have curative properties and to keep one safe from illness and protect against poison and spells. Sapphire is the birthstone of September.
The Victorian used stars and moons to be the subject of many objet d'art from jewellery to glass wear. Stars symbolised "spirit, guidance and direction" for its wearer.
This beautiful 18ct yellow gold ornate ring features two bright blue Ceylon sapphires alongside a central diamond. The gemstones are star set, a wonderful traditional design from this era.
The ring has a number of marks indicating the piece was hallmarked in 1913 in Chester, England.
