Description
Antique 1918 Edwardian 18ct yellow gold ring featuring three rubies and two diamonds. The gemstones are set into an ornate setting with engraved flourishes.
Ruby is the birthstone for July, it is the colour of love, anger, passion and fury. It was believed those who wore rubies were bestowed good fortune, throughout history rubies were worn by emperors and kings. Still to this day we value the gemstone just as highly. The ruby is considered one of the four most precious gemstones in the world alongside Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond.
The ring has a number of hallmarks indicating the piece is set in 18ct yellow gold and was hallmarked in Chester in 1918 from jeweller G&G.
