Antique 9ct yellow gold pendant and brooch. The necklace features a Swallow bird, flower and leaf set with seed pearls and amethyst gemstones. This piece can be worn as a necklace or a brooch. The pendant has a number of marks indicating it was hallmarked in 1919 in Chester, England.
Seed pearls in the Victorian era were associated with a number of symbols such as innocence, purity, humility and harmony. Amethyst is the birthstone of February.

The pendant measures 4.6cm / 1.8" in height (including bail and drop) and 2.6cm / 1" in length. The pendant hangs from a new 9ct yellow gold chain measuring 18" / 45.7cm in length.

The pendant is in excellent antique condition.
