Antique Art Nouveau gilt gold locket featuring a design of a girl placed towards the side of the locket in a raised decoration typical of this period. The locket opens from the top revealing two compartments to place photographs. Art Nouveau is an ornamental style of art that became popular between about 1890 and 1910. It is characterised by its use of long organic curved lines and shapes intertwined with flowers and foliage and used in jewellery, fabrics and art designs.
The Locket is perhaps the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It has to be the ultimate love token.
