Victorian rectangular locket featuring a Japanese scene of a heron surrounded by reeds and leaves. The heron symbolises calmness, patience and determination. In the Victorian era as trade relations improved with Japan, imported goods started to influence British jewellery design.

The locket measures 3.1cm / 1.2" in height, 2.5cm / 0.9" in length and 0.6cm / 0.2" in thickness.
