Antique Victorian 1880s 'Minnie' Brooch

Vintage c1880s Victorian Minnie silver name brooch.This shaped brooch has the name Minnie on it with an etched pattern surrounding the name. The piece has stamped markings of _ÌÔÌäR.J.W_ÌÔ? representing the maker, _ÌÔÌäRichard John Wakefield_ÌÔ? a popular jeweller living in Tenby Street North Birmingham, England from the 1880s -1920s. The piece is in excellent vintage condition and measures 4.4cm in width and 1.8cm in height and fastens with pin and open c clasp. These brooches originated from name pins given to staff working in large country houses. Later they were also given to loved ones as sweetheart brooches.
