Antique Victorian cufflinks featuring a beautifully engraved pattern of leaves and flowers. This type of cufflink was called solitaires and later renamed bachelor buttons. They were made by George West in 1872 in England. On the back of the cufflinks, there is a spring action mechanism allowing for the two halves of the cufflink to come away from one another, this action was patented, as indicated by the words 'WEST'S PATENT'. The front of the cufflink is 9ct yellow gold while the rest of the piece is brass.
These pieces could be worn as cufflinks or worn in the lapels of a button down shirt.
