Description

Antique Victorian 9ct rose gold oval locket featuring decorative flower pattern. The locket hangs from a new 9ct rose gold chain. The locket is a gold 'back and front' locket which means the front and back of the locket are 9ct gold while the inside is brass.

The Locket is perhaps the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It has to be the ultimate love token. During the Victorian era, young Victorian women would hide a picture of a man they admired, if the man offered up a lock of hair a marriage proposal usually would follow. Lockets were considered a statement of an intention to marry.

The locket measures 2m / 0.7" (including ring) in height, 1.5cm / 0.6". The necklace hangs from a new 18" 9ct rose gold chain.
