Antique Victorian gold filled button from Japan. This beautiful ornate Japanese gold button were saved from a elegant ladies jacket from the Victorian era. The button is decorated with carved leaves in bright gold. The piece is not hallmarked however we know it is gold filled from its high quality colour and solid weight.
Gold filled also known as rolled gold, it is the process of a thin layer of gold on a base metal, fused together by heating.
