Antique Victorian Silver 'Goodluck' Cravat Pin Brooch
Description
Antique cravat pin set in sterling silver dating back to 1864. The pin has a horseshoe with the words written in a gothic inscription saying 'Good Luck', horseshoes symbolise luck. The font type of the inscription is typical of the Victorian era. The pin was designed for a cravat scarf as it has a long pin although it could be worn easily as a brooch.
The pin comes with a new silver stopper to secure the pin when worn.
HALLMARKS
The piece has a number of hallmarks on the back of the horseshoe, indicating the piece is sterling silver, hallmarked in Chester in 1864.
CONDITION
The pin is in excellent antique condition.
MEASUREMENTS
The pin measures 6.5cm / 2.5" in length and 1.8cm / 0.7" in width.
