Description
Antique Victorian sterling silver ornate topped glass jewellery box. The top of the box is made from sterling silver, it features fornate leaves intertwined swirling around the heart shaped domed lid. The box was hallmarked in Birmingham, England in 1900 as indicated by the Lion Passant, Letter 'A' and Anchor head marking on the side of the lid.
The box is beautiful, it would be the perfect container for small items of jewellery. In the Victorian era it would have lived on a ladies dressing table, filled with her favourite rouge or powder. CONDITION
The piece is in good condition, the silver top does have wear a tiny fine cracks. This is quite common for old pots like this as the silver was always very thin when it was pressed into its shape over 100 years ago.
