This Antique Victorian Silver Locket and Collar Necklace, hallmarked in Birmingham in 1883, is a magnificent example of Victorian design and symbolism. The sterling silver locket features an ornate front decorated with ivy, dots, and triangles—symbols of fidelity, endurance, and strength—while the reverse is plain, showcasing hallmarks including “RPO,” the Anchor, Lion, and the date letter ‘i.’
The wide silver collar chain is equally striking, adorned with intricate cut-out star motifs and ball detailing, offering a bold yet elegant aesthetic. The chain connects at the front with a classic bolt ring clasp, from which the locket hangs gracefully. This piece embodies the craftsmanship and sentimentality of the Victorian era, making it a timeless addition to any jewelry collection.
