Vintage 12ct Pear Cut Prasiolite Gold Gemstone Ring
Description
Since 1950 almost all natural Prasiolite has been discovered in a small Brazilian mine. However Prasiolite starts off as purple amethyst which is either naturally heat treated in the earth or once mined. As the stone is heated is transforms from purple amethyst into green Prasiolite.
Our handmade Prasiolite stone has been beautifully cut into a pear shape or tear drop shape. The stone has a diamond chequer board pattern on the front and the back of the stone. This stunning cut allows this beautiful leek green stone to sing. The stone is simply set in a 9ct yellow gold setting. The setting is paired back to allow the stone to be the centre of attention.
This piece is not marked with a date letter, we designed and had this piece handmade in 2000 in London, England by our Goldsmith.
