Victorian (1837-1901) sterling silver star set with glass claw set paste stones. Star shaped brooches spoke to the Victorians of Turkey and the Ottoman Empire, with its Star and Crescent motif. They were much taken with the romance of the near-East. Often star or star and crescent brooches were associated with honeymooners.
This brooch is in excellent vintage condition measuring 4cm / 1.5" in diameter.
