Antique Victorian (1837-1901) gemstone and pearl ring. The ring features seed pearls set around a square cut garnet gemstone set into a rose gold setting and shank. The underside of the ring has a smooth closed back setting. Garnets are the birthstone of January, it is thought to be a stone of love and passion, awakening creativity, positive energy and self-confidence. In the Victorian era seed pearls in jewellery represented 'tears'. The piece is excellent antique condition, measuring 3.4mm in thickness, 19.6mm in width (whole setting) and 11mm in height. The ring is a size K (UK) / 5.5 (US).
