Even today in the north-east, there is a proverb stating 'That a Turquoise given by a loving hand carries with it happiness and good fortune'. Additionally pearls had multiple meanings, primarily they were associated with 'beauty'.
Our stunning Victorian brooch features a bright blue turquoise and tiny seed pearl set in 9ct yellow gold.
