Vintage 1930's Art Deco Silver Plated Hand Mirror Necklace
Description
Vintage 1930's hand mirror featuring the letters 'EPNS' indicating the piece has been electroplated using nickel silver. Invented in 1805 by Italian chemist Luigi Brugnatelli, silver plate or electroplate is formed when a thin layer of pure or sterling silver is deposited on the surface of a base metal.
This pretty mirror has been styled on a chain although it could be used on its own as a mirror in a handbag.
MEASUREMENTS
The mirror measures 8.7cm / 3.4" in height and 4.7cm / 1.8" in height. The mirror hangs off of a new sterling silver chain measuring 45cm / 18".
CONDITION
The mirror is in excellent vintage condition.
