Vintage 1930s Carnelian Marcasite Silver Ring
Description
Marcasite stones are Pyrite also known as Fools Gold. It was used in jewellery due to it's ability to catch the light, giving a diamond effect.
Our vintage 1930s ring features faceted marcasite stones set into a ornate pattern surrounding a smooth elongated oval Carnelian semiprecious stone. The setting of the ring is sterling silver whilst the band of the ring is 9ct yellow gold. Better quality rings during this period were often set in gold bands.
