Vintage Art Deco 1930s Mother of Pearl brooch with the word 'Mother' written. This type of brooch was typically given to a lady from her sweetheart or son, often a soldier or sailor before he left for duty, as a token of affection.
The word 'Mother' is mounted in a rolled gold wire on a mother of pearl base and secured with a rolled gold open 'c' clasp. Rolled gold is a thin layer of gold on a base metal and fused together by heating. The brooch has a small heart dangling from the bottom with the lords prayer written onto it.
MEASUREMENTS
The brooch measures 4.2cm / 1.6" in length and 1.1cm / 0.4" in height.
CONDITION
The brooch is in excellent vintage condition.
