Vintage rolled gold red glass beaded Art Deco necklace c.1930s. Rolled gold wire necklaces were popular from c.1914 to the late 1940s. These necklace were hand made and it is said provided work for injured soldiers returning from the war. Rolled gold is a thin layer of gold on a base metal, fused together by heating. The necklace featured bright red glass beaded strung on linked rolled gold wire. The necklace is in excellent vintage condition, measuring 39.3 cm / 15.5" plus a 3.8cm / 1.5" drop.
