Vintage 1930s Rolled Gold Disc Necklace
Description
Vintage 1930s pendant set in rolled gold hanging from a new 9ct gold chain. The disc is made from rolled gold, a high-quality gold plating. Rolled gold is a thin layer of gold on a base metal and it is fused together by heating.
Rolled gold dates back to the Great Depression of the early 20th century when gold was too expensive. It was patented in England in 1817, the material was used extensively in the 1920s and 1930s.
MEASUREMENTS
The disc measures 1.9cm / 0.7" in diameter, the pendant hangs from a new 9ct yellow gold 18" chain.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition, the disc has minor scratches only visible close up.
