Vintage 1940s Norwegian Pale Blue Guilloche Enamel Silver Brooch

Vintage 1940s brooch featuring a modernist pale blue guilloche set in silver gilt. On the back of the brooch there are a number of hallmarks indicating the piece was made by Albert Scharning from sterling silver. Albert Scharning was a silversmith from Oslo, Norway. His pieces date from the 1930's - 1950's. The brooch secures with an open 'c' clasp. Silver gilt is a term used for laying gold over silver.
Guilloche enamelling is a decorative process which is precise, intricate, it is a repetitive pattern engraved into an underlying material via engine turning with enamel. The word guilloche refers to the process of engine turning.

The brooch measures 5.7cm / 2.2" in length and 1.6cm / 0.6" in height.
CONDITION
The brooch is in very good condition. The silver gilt on the front of the piece from age is slightly lighter than it would have been. The colour is a mix of gold and silver.
