Vintage 1940s Rhodium Plated Libra Scales
Description
Vintage 1940s scales representing the star sign Libra (September 22nd - October 22nd). The symbol of the scales is based on the Scales of Justice held by Themis, the Greek personification of divine law and custom. The piece features marcasite stones set into a rhodium plated brooch. The brooch is well made with a good weight, it features a safety chain for extra security. Marcasite is actually Pyrite also known as Fools Gold. It was used in jewellery due to it's ability to catch the light, giving a diamond effect.

The brooch measures 3cm / 1.1" in height, 3.3cm / 1.2" in width and 0.3cm / 0.1" in thickness.
CONDITION:
The brooch is in excellent vintage condition.
