Vintage 1950s rose brooch featuring a pink rose on a scalloped white guilloche enamel background. This brooch is set in silver gilt metal.
On the back of the piece it is marked '925S H, Sterling Norway'. The piece was made by Ivar Holth a silversmith in Oslo, Norway in the 1940s
Guilloche enameling is a decorative process which is precise, intricate, it is a repetitive pattern engraved into an underlying material via engine turning with enamel. The word guilloche refers to the process of engine turning.
