Vintage 1950's Aurora Borealis pear drop earrings. These sparkly vintage earrings feature a pear drop briolette cut glass stone finished with a gold tone decorative cap. The earrings have a gold tone ball and wire shepherds hook fastening.
HISTORY | Christian Dior in collaboration with Swarovski creating the Aurora Borealis stone. A polychrome metallic coating gave this stone a rainbow iridescent quality. The stones were used in many different designs of jewellery including brooches, earrings, necklaces and extravagant complete sets called parures.
MEASUREMENTS | The measures approximately 2cm in length from the top of the gold tone ball.
CONDITION | The earrings are in excellent vintage condition.
