Vintage 1950s Snake necklace featuring a detailed snake head and tail intertwined to form stunning necklace. The necklace has an extendable chain. The necklace is most likely gold plated.
Snake jewellery became popular during the Victorian era after Prince Albert proposed to Queen Victorian with a snake engagement ring. Snakes symbolise eternal love and wisdom.
A NOTE FROM TIFFANY
It is wonderful to know the exact history of a piece of jewellery, this beautiful necklace dates back to 1956, it was gifted as a 21st Birthday present in Yorkshire, England. It has been lovingly cared for and I imagine it would have only come out of the jewellery box on special occasions.
