Vintage 1960's Enamel Articulated Fish Pendant Necklace

Vintage 1960's enamel Koi fish. This unusual pendant features orange and cream enamel set into an Koi fish, the body of the fish moves as you wear the pendant. This pendant most likely came from China a souvenir from the 1960's traveller, a true vintage Chinese export.
The earliest ancient legend of the koi fish dates 533 B.C. The legend says Chinese philosopher Confucius was born a son in 533 B.C, King Shoko of Ro presented him with a black carp, as a gift. According to legend all modern day koi and their bright colours are from the black carp given to Confucius by the king. In general the koi are believed to give you good fortune, success, prosperity, longevity, courage, ambition and perseverance.
The pendant is in excellent vintage condition, measuring 5cm in length and 2.5cm at its widest point, the pendant hangs from a 84cm yellow gold vermeil (high quality gold plate) chain.
