Vintage 1960's Enamel Koi Fish Earrings

Vintage 1960's enamel Koi fish earrings. These unusual earrings features orange and yellow enamel set into an Koi fish, the body of the fish moves as you wear the earrings. The earrings most likely came from China as a souvenir from the 1960's traveller, a true vintage Chinese export. The earrings have a matching pendant.
The earliest ancient legend of the koi fish dates 533 B.C. The legend says Chinese philosopher Confucius was born a son in 533 B.C, King Shoko of Ro presented him with a black carp, as a gift. According to legend all modern day koi and their bright colours are from the black carp given to Confucius by the king. In general the koi are believed to give you good fortune, success, prosperity, longevity, courage, ambition and perseverance.
MEASUREMENTS
The earrings measure 3.3cm / 1.3" in drop and 1.2cm / 0.4" in width. The post of the earrings are yellow gold.
CONDITION
The earrings are in excellent vintage condition.
