Vintage 1960s tiny heart locket featuring ornate engravings. This tiny delicate locket hangs from a new silver chain. The locket has two tiny areas where pictures could be placed.
HISTORY
The locket has a long rich history, during the earlier centuries, they were used to carry good luck charms, mementoes, hair, powder and even poison. The locket secured its romantic status during the Victorian era, it became the most mysterious and alluring pieces of jewellery. Only the wearer knows what secrets lie within the locket. It was to be the ultimate love token. Pictures held in lockets were originally miniature portraits, these were gradually replaced with photographs.

The locket measures 0.6cm / 0.2" in height and 0.5cm / 0.1" in width. The pendant hangs from a new silver chain measuring 18" / 45.72cm in length.
